How To Keep Training In Winter? Some Tips To Help You Remain Consistent
WINTER IS COMING
The cold weather from the North is finally making it’s way down South and we need to be prepared! Thankfully we don’t have to worry about the undead coming along with it, however we do have to prepare as to how we are going to deal and cope with this change!
Here are a few ways you can keep your training programme going through the winter months:
1. Find a Gym Partner
During winter, you will find yourself waking up in a warm toasty bed and not want to get out! This is probably one of the most comfortable and pleasant things about winter (second to the fashion, of-course).
One of the best ways to ensure that you are going to keep your commitment to training is to find a gym partner. Gym partners keep us accountable to our goal as we don’t want to let people down. Imagine how you would feel knowing that you committed to meeting your partner at the gym at 05:00 in the morning and you left them alone in the cold! Not great, hey?
You can find a gym partner at the gym, or you can get one of your friends to commit to training with you! Who likes training on their own anyway?
2. Join a Class
Another great way to keep you consistent throughout the Winter period is joining a class.
What’s great about this is there is a set time, so you cannot procrastinate training until later to the point where later becomes tomorrow, then the next day and then next week, and before you know it, it’s Summer again!
Classes are generally fun and challenging at the same time! They are great for a quick training session and an amazing opportunity to make some new friends!
Next time you are in the gym, ask your trainers about the classes they offer! They might even let you try one or two out before you have to make a decision!

3. Buy Some Winter Training Gear
We all love looking great, isn’t that one of the reasons why we train?
Go out and get some new training apparel, there are so many new local and international brands that look great! We recommend find a local fitness brand to support!
Whenever we buy new clothes, we like to show them off! So get some new training apparel and you’ll want to be in the gym being noticed!

4. Commit to Your Summer Goal
Have you ever been on December vacation and come across someone who looks like they were sent on vacation to be the mascot? Well, that could be you!
We all want to look great in the summer, to show off our bodies and how well we look after them. But come Summer time we are left scrambling trying to get into that desired shape with not enough time!
Summer bodies are made in the winter! The work is done in the winter months leading up into the summer. Preparation has no short-cuts, there is no quick fix or secret to a great shape. It’s consistency and hard-work that requires time and effort to accomplish!
Commit to your summer in the winter and you will be surprised as to what you can accomplish!
5. Join A Gym
It’s a great place to have an amazing workout without having to worry about weather conditions, safety and you have access to much more equipment and styles of training than at home or on the road!
