Cardio

What is Cardio?

Cardio is a way of exercising in which your heart rate is raised.  In order to make muscles
stronger we need to move them.  This movement strengthens our muscles which in turn makes our
bodies more efficient and healthy.  Your heart is a muscle and by raising your heart rate over a 
sustained period of time makes it stronger.  A stronger cardio-vascular system means more capillaries
delivering more oxygen to cells in your muscles. This allows your cells to burn more fat during both
exercise and inactivity.

Exercises:

Cardio exercises include running, rowing and cycling.

What is HIIT 30?

HIIT 30 is a high intensity workout program.  “HIIT” stands for High Intensity
Interval Training. Scientific studies show HIIT Training to be the most effective
system for losing weight and gaining lean muscle.  We recommend that you
attend three classes a week for optimum results. Our HIIT 30 classes are 30
minutes and cover a full body workout.

1) Fill in your PAR-Q form at reception (once-off)
2) Log your workout at the Vitality Kiosk using your details after your workout

You will get 100 points for every workout tracked. Workouts can take up to 72 hours to reflect
